Buried deep into Margate’s Winter Gardens, Maze awaits you. Choose the ‘light’ or ‘dark’ path and enter Maze, a foam structure of industrial proportions where the two worlds of dance and visual art collide to create an immersive adventure. Moving through the labyrinth, a feast of multi-sensory moments submerse you into the Maze. Intimate and moving, delightful and uneasy, become observer and participant, as the world of Maze shifts and surprises.
We were asked by Jasmin Vardimon & Turner Contemporary to create the brand identity and marketing collateral for Maze, an immersive performance in Margate's Winter Gardens.
Choreographed by critically-acclaimed director Jasmin Vardimon, with design in collaboration with Ron Arad and artist Guy Bar-Amotz. The logo took the form of a maze structure with parts of letters removed, we then used the spaces to run content through, in and around the maze type. The identity is flexible and can expand to fill the space in which it appears. We also created a teaser micro site, that revealed more pages the closer the ticket launch came, without a traditional navigation arrows were used at each edge to the screen to allow the user to choose a direction and explore. Some pages were moved through without stopping to a allow a glimpse of another space without actually revealing too much detail of the event.
