About the project

Having worked previously with popular, UAE-born artisanal Japanese bakery and café, Yamanote Atelier, we jumped at the chance to create the brand identity and packaging for their new venture Ya Baum. Ya Baum specialise in Baumkuchen, a traditional German ‘tree cake’ known for its distinct layers that resemble tree growth rings. They wanted the brand bold, bright and colourful, after creating the brand marque we designed packaging based around the shapes of the cake, using layers of circles, rings, lines and a floral shape as a graphic representation of the more organic version of the cake. The identity is used in their store and across all packaging and their marketing materials.
